The clock is running out for Zira and Kiara

This Sunday, July 5th, two 4-month-old puppies have one chance to escape a future behind kennel bars. We need €1,300 to make this happen.

Zira and Kiara were born into crisis. Their German Shepherd mother arrived at our shelter frightened, broken, overwhelmed, she had seven puppies with her and one of them died. There were moments she refused to feed them. She later needed surgery just to survive. We fought for all of them: feeding, nursing mother and puppies.

No puppy should grow at a shelter. We begged for foster homes. None came. However,  Zira, Kiara and their four siblings grew into healthy, playful, loving puppies.

Now they face a different kind of danger, and it’s our next nightmare.

Four months old, and only two girls were adopted. They're large-breed puppies, always overlooked for being big instead of small, for needing space instead of a lap. In months, they stop being "puppies" and become "adolescent dogs." That label is a sentence for how long they'll wait. Cyprus shelters are already drowning in large-breed dogs with nowhere to go. Months. Years. That is what waiting looks like for dogs like them.

A foster home in the UK has opened its door, but only for two. This chance will not come again. If we miss it, it's gone.

Please donate if you can, every euro moves them closer to that plane.
